LGK Classic Course crafted by golf course architect Liang Guo Kun, who has experience with designs in China, this new tract will certainly get he local industry buzzing and shake up the region for more than a couple of reasons.
It is a wily creation that is considerably tougher to play than the Jack Nicklaus-designed Legacy – the first course on the property and one that was opened for business last September.
Also, while the new tract has been pristinely shaped and put together, the hazards are rather profound and come largely in the form of numerous water bodies, tellingly placed sand bunkers and mounds, all woven within or bordering on generally narrow fairways – or at least a lot narrower than the Legacy course.
Speaking exclusively to TeeUp, Liang said he was delighted at the prospect of crafting the Classic course and looked forward excitedly to the third layout on the multi-million dollar undertaking that forms part of Country Garden Holdings’ massive development project in Johor.
